On a personal note, I had to put my mom’s dog Woody to sleep this week. He was 14 years old and so sick. He was the sweetest dog I have ever known. It was a horrible thing to do but it was time. My mom is wondering if she should adopt another dog or not and that got me thinking about Wayside Waifs.
It is an amazing charitable, no-kill, animal shelter. They are the largest pet adoption shelter in Kansas City, placing over 5,000 animals a year in loving FOREVER homes. There is no time limit for dogs at Wayside Waifs. They stay until they are adopted. Isn’t that a wonderful thing?
Wayside Waifs isn’t just a holding place for animals, they do so much more! They have three primary goals.
- Providing temporary shelter for homeless companion animals
- Educating the public
- Developing partnerships, collaborations and strategic alliances.
They have so many great programs and services and you can check them all out here.
Wayside Waifs relies on donations so you can click here if you would like to help them out.
Please spay or neuter your pet!
