Tips for a GREEN Holiday Season

If you are environmentally conscious you know that the holiday season is one of the worst for the environment.  We use so much more wrapping paper, tissue paper, packaging materials, etc.  There are some ways to be mindful of the environment while still enjoying the holidays!

Ben Champion, Kansas State University Director of Sustainability, has given us some useful tips to stay green this year.  Click here to read all of his suggestions.  One of my favorites are remembering to buy local.  Not only does buying local help to cut down on shipping materials, but it also helps keep revenue in our city!  I also like the idea of looking for wrapping paper that can be recycled.  He gives a great explanation of why traditional paper cannot be.  That is a ton of paper being dumped into landfills every year!
