Countdown to the Fourth: City of Leawood

This is where I usually head on July 4th.  The City of Leawood and the Leawood Parks and Recreation Department will present their annual 4th of July Celebration at Leawood City Park, located at 10601 Lee Boulevard, Leawood, KS.  There will be live entertainment, games, and a variety of food vendors.  Leawood’s Aquatic Center (located at the same address) will be open from 11:00 a.m. ’til 5:00 p.m.  Kid’s activities and food vendors will be open from 5:00-9:00 p.m.  Stage show events will run from 5:45-7:00 p.m., and muscial entertainment, provided by Cherry Bomb, will run from 7:30-9:30 p.m.  The sky lights up beginning at 9:45 p.m.!  General admission is free, and you can purchase an “all access” ride/activity pass band (for children 14 and under) for $6.  There is no parking available within the park, but free parking, including free shuttle bus transportation to the park, will be provided in the west parking lots along Tomahawk Creek Parkway.

This is an impressive display, and a day at the Aquatic Center can be a nice prelude to the evening~  Rosemary
